Benzoylecgonine
The primary urinary metabolite of cocaine and the analyte targeted by cocaine drug tests.
Last updated:Benzoylecgonine (BE) is produced by hydrolysis of cocaine in the plasma and liver. It is highly specific to cocaine exposure and is the analyte measured by both screening and confirmation steps in workplace drug testing.
