LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry)
A confirmation method that uses two stages of mass analysis, often used for fentanyl and other low-cutoff analytes.
Last updated:LC-MS/MS uses two stages of mass filtering to achieve very low detection limits and high specificity. It is the standard confirmation technique for fentanyl/norfentanyl and many other targets where ng/mL-level sensitivity is required.
